LAREDO, TX (Date: September 1, 2026). Dr. Leonides G. Cigarroa High School has officially released its highly-anticipated September 2026 calendar, featuring a packed schedule of academic markers, community support initiatives, cultural celebrations, and the legendary Homecoming festivities. The month is dedicated to academic progress and building school spirit.
Academic Milestones & Tutorials Begin
The month begins with a clear focus on academic success. Progress reports for the first Nine Weeks are now available on Skyward as of Wednesday, September 2. To further support student growth, after school tutorials will begin on Tuesday, September 8, running every Monday through Thursday from 4:25 PM to 5:25 PM.
Community & Cultural Engagement
September at Cigarroa is also a time for honoring heritage and promoting well-being. The school joins in the whole-month celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Simultaneously, the school will observe Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Suicide Prevention Month throughout September.

Parent & Family Engagement Title I Parent Summit: Saturday, Sept. 19 (LISD PAC - 8:30AM - 12PM)
To show community spirit and support, a school-wide Blood Drive is scheduled in the CHS Library on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 15-16, from 9 AM to 2 PM.
School Culture & Pep Rallies
School spirit will be exceptionally high with multiple pep rallies and home events leading to the big day. Fans can look forward to multiple events, especially:

Varsity Football Game & Parent Night Tie-Dye Pep Rally: Friday, Sept. 11
Varsity Football Game & Beach Day Pep Rally: Friday, Sept. 18
